Scotland scored six tries against the USA in Wrexham to win 41-14 and finish the Pool stages of the Junior World Championship on a high note.

Winger Chris Kinloch opened Scotland's account on the 10-minute mark with a well-worked try and he was joined on the score-sheet by Gary Strain, Stevie McColl, Paul Loudon and Adrian Duncan.

Kinloch then scored his second try in stoppage time to cap off a morale-enhancing win over the USA - much to the delight of team manager John Jeffrey.

Jeffrey said: "We are absolutely delighted to get the win. We are now going to regroup and take on the next challenge. It was a confidence boost for the boys.

Weve not had the best of luck this season, either in the 6 Nations or the World Cup, so it was great to get those six tries.

It was an excellent team performance and everyone stuck to the game-plan. It was a disciplined performance that was topped off with six tries."

Scotland under-20 Player of the Year Stevie McColl contributed 16 points and Scotland also survived a period in the second half when they were reduced to 14-men after prop David Morton had been yellow-carded.
