With New Zealand opening this years Tri Nations against South Africa tomorrow do you know that the 1926/7 New Zealand Maori team wanted to come to New Anniesland to play Glasgow Accies as part of their tour of Britain, France and Canada
Unfortunately the Scottish Rugby Union refused to sanction the match as they suspected that on their previous tour the 1905 New Zealanders had made what they regarded as illegal payments to their players of 3s or 15p per day
