Coaches Corner
Good afternoon folks and welcome to our first home game of the season
2008/09, unfortunately we got off to a poor start last week against
newly promoted West of Scotland and we face other tough game this
week, which will be our first in Premier 1 against another promoted
team in Selkirk.
On that I would like to welcome Selkirk to Old Anniesland for the
first time in Premier 1 and have to say I am looking forward to
locking horns with Kevin Barrie, coach of Selkirk, who I had many
difficult Saturday afternoon tussles with as a player and expect no
less this afternoon.
Glasgow Hawks are looking at this season as a bit of a re building
process and having young talent like Craig Gossman, Robbie Hair, Andy
White, Paddy Bowyer, Nick Campbell, Andy Kirkland and a few others. In
the words of that famous phone commercial – the futures bright.
Finally I would like to say from all the players and coaches that we
appreciate your support for today's game and look forward to seeing
you throughout the season and in the nature of rugby hope to see you
at the bar for a beer
