Ayr continued their good start to the new season with a 17-11 win over Hawick at Mansfield Park.
New Zealand recruit Frazier Climo was in the points again with a try and penalty and converted his own try and a score by Glenn Tippett.
Glasgow Hawks slipped to a 24-25 home defeat against Premiership newcomers Selkirk. Hawks points came from a try by Peter Jericevich and a double from Sean Murray. Mike Rainey kicked the rest but Hawks were left with only a losing bonus point for their efforts.
West of Scotland slipped to a 19-11 defeat to Melrose. Jamie Hunter went over for a try and Peter Horne kicked two penalties.
