Glasgow Hawks 24 - 25 Selkirk

SCOTLAND ON SUNDAY REPORTS
at Old Anniesland
SELKIRK remain the comeback kings as their dream return to the top division continues.

They looked the more likely in a harum scarum opening period, but it was Hawks who took the lead with tries in the 13th and 17th minutes from

Peter Jericevich and Sean Murray, Mike Rainey converting both.

Almost immediately Selkirk's Michael McVie kicked a penalty, but it was 35 minutes before the Borderers added to it.

A concerted move took play to the home line from where prop Martin Murray rumbled over, but a penalty from Rainey allowed Hawks to turn leading 17-8.

That lead was soon eaten into with Murray driven over this time and McVie converting.

Selkirk went ahead for the first time on 61 minutes when an impressive handling move allowed Ed Gauche to touch down, with McVie's conversion following.

The young Hawks team came back with Sean Murray's second try, converted by Rainey, but a penalty by McVie with nine minutes left put the visitors that vital point ahead.
