BOROUGHMUIR coach Eamon John has been surprised by the performance of the first Fijian player of the club.

The Scotsman reports that John saluted Apenai Kororua’s performance and he intends to use Kororua more on the field than on the bench after the Capital side put Glasgow Hawks to the sword yesterday.

The Meggetland men won 73-10 at home in the Scottish Hydro Electric Premiership Division One matches with ease to move up to third in the table behind Ayr and Selkirk.

Debutant Kororua scored a try, looked lively, and is currently in the good books of the coach.

The Fijian has impressed for the club's lower teams this term and John feels the 27-year-old may make an impact in coming weeks.

“He showed some nice touches when he came on and he is a strong runner. He looks like he can play outside centre or wing and it will be interesting to see him playing in future matches, but he can add something to the squad for sure,” the former Preston Lodge man said.

For his part Kororua said he felt that his side did well and he would be back for his club barking commands and may be show a little what the Fijians are made off.
