Can Glasgow follow the Hawks class of 98?

Glasgow must be history men
Glasgow prop Kevin Tkachuk says it's up to the Glasgow players to write a new chapter in their history when they take on Toulouse in the Heineken Cup.
The star-studded French team come to Firhill with a huge reputation but Kevin, a masters history graduate, says Glasgow can upset the odds on Friday.

"For Toulouse we're hoping it is going to be a typical Scottish night - cold. Maybe a bit of a chill will take the edge of their game and level the playing field more to our favour," said Kevin in The Glaswegian.

"That said, if teams were given wins on ranking alone, what's the point of turning up?

"The beauty of sport is that the unpredictable can happen as we proved against Biarritz last year.

"But we have to come out and show that we belong in the tournament - we've done it before but you can only rely on history so much and it is up to us to write a new chapter.

"Sure Toulouse have some great players with huge reputations but as we say in Canada, everyone laces up their boots the same way.

"We owe it to ourselves and the fans to make Toulouse earn those reputations because you are only as good as your next game."
