MacMillan has no fears of Glasgow Accies now his squad is at full strength
Published: 24/10/2008

CAITHNESS coach Jim MacMillan has a full strength squad at his disposal after being able to field just 15 players in a defeat at Linlithgow last week.

The Thurso side lost 36-7 in West Lothian, but their coach is more confident of securing a positive result when Glasgow Academicals travel north tomorrow.

Three key players will return and MacMillan hopes home advantage will play its part.

He said: “We struggled last Saturday at Linlithgow as we had a lot of late call-offs at the last minute which didn’t help.

“We ended up with no replacements, which was a huge disadvantage, but we should have a full squad available.

“We are reasonably confident at home as we thought Glasgow Accies would be higher in the table than they are.

“They had a good start and maybe faded a bit, but they will be looking to get back on track.

“They are certainly a good side and have posed us difficulties in the past, so we have an idea of what we are up against.

“We are looking to win at home against anyone in the league – there is certainly nobody we have seen who we shouldn’t be able to give a good game at home.

“We don’t have anything to fear from Glasgow Accies.

“We should be a lot stronger as Norman Foubister will be back at centre, Hamish Coghill should come back at hooker and most importantly, Steve Campbell will return in the back row. Having these players back will make a huge difference.”
