CLUB ROUNDUP

West of Scotland's unbeaten home record came to an end as Melrose claimed a 20-15 win at Burnbrae.
West trailed 17-8 at half-time - the home points coming from an Andy Park try and a penalty from Peter Horne.

A second-half try by Glasgow pro Richie Gray - converted by Horne - gave West hope but they couldn't turn forward pressure into points and a late penalty clinched the game for Melrose.

Ayr reignited their Scottish Hydro Electric Premiership Division One title quest by crushing crisis-club Hawick 29-0 at Millbrae - but it took the home troops until the dying seconds to snare the vital bonus point.

Frazier Climo powered back to peak form for the seasiders to grab a 19-point haul which featured a try double.

The other Ayr scorers were Damian Kelly and Richard McCallum as the home side made amends for last week's loss at Melrose.

Hawick never threw in the towel, but they lacked penetration and seldom looked like breaking their duck.

Glasgow Hawks went down to a 22-15 defeat to Selkirk. Iain Noble kicked three penalties with Robbie Hair adding a penalty and a drop-goal.
