SCOTLAND ON SUNDAY REPORTS
By Colin Renton at Raeburn Place
TWO sides intent on playing expansive rugby despite difficult conditions served up a cracking game that hung in the balance until the final minute.
Ruaridh Bonner broke the deadlock with an early try, converted by Mike Campbell, who added a penalty to extend the Accies' lead.
Glasgow pro Stevie Swindall clawed back five points when he touched down, but Campbell restored the 10-point gap when he intercepted a pass from Hawks winger Jono Wright and raced 70 metres to score. Wright atoned in style when he broke two tackles to touch down and complete the first half scoring.
Ian Noble slotted a penalty to trim the gap to two points and Hawks moved ahead when John MacLay scored their third try.
Campbell levelled with a penalty in 75 minutes and Accies snatched the vital score when James Turner applied the final touch after a close-range drive, Campbell capping a superb individual performance by converting to complete the win.
