Good afternoon folks and welcome to Old Anniesland for this SHE Premiership Division 1 game versus Currie and a warm welcome to Ally Donaldson and his players for what I hope is an enthralling match this afternoon.

This will be our first Sunday game of the season which is not great, but the fact that the game is being shown live on BBC Alba makes up for it. It’s great to see the BBC putting club rugby back onto the TV screens and hopefully this will be a much more regular thing in the upcoming seasons!

Once again last week we lost a game that we should have/could have won and with a little more composure in attack we would have – chin up guys it will come.

Two little interesting things came up at last week’s game, the first being the referee only played 39 minutes in the first half blowing up a minute short and not even any injury time – must be an Australian thing!

Secondly and more importantly it transpired that the comms set-up used by the officials wasn’t working properly meaning that sometime the referee could hear the assistant referees and other times he couldn’t which is a bit of a worry.

This basically means that the game is potentially being refereed differently depending on what time the comms set-up plays up and this was highlighted in our game against Accies when we could clearly hear the stand side touch judge call offside against Accies and at the time I thought the referee chose to ignore him which was bad enough, but to then find out that it was because the technology was playing up we conceded a try. This is worrying because surely if the technology isn’t working, which seems to be quite common, then they must have a back system that helps. It seems that on this case they didn’t.
