Fantastic performance considering the extreme weather, coaches feel its the best of the season and the type of rugby played throughout was exciting to watch and players have said how enjoyable to play in.
5-0 good phases and quick ball allowed Mike Aird a little space which he exploited well
5-7 daft interception in front of our posts as we tried to move slow ball wide, who gave it? - not sure, vision was impaired by the driving rain !!
10-7 we had been hitting the gaps hard and breaking first tackle and this try came from good build up and pace. Scoring pass taken by our full-back, S....R...
10-10 despite being the better team we still found ourselves on wrong side of penalty count in middle of first half, done a few times for off feet at ruck time. Harsh considering conditions.
15-10 great turn over ball and countered with pace, several off-loads before Ali Max scorched over in corner, having taken final off-load 30 metres out.
15-15 despite scoring 3 tries it was tough playing into wind/rain etc and showed when B'muir had pressure we missed a tackle which set up ruck on line and prop then breenched over from a few feet.
Half-time
Coaches not sure what advantage wind should have given but would have taken 15all at the start.
18-15 good pressure early and penalty moved forward cause B'muir not back 10m, Chippy did the honours, having endured tough shift trying to kick conversions into that wind.
25-15 big hits at ruck time and runners coming from deep tore holes in defence and further increase in number of off-loads out of tackle resulted in John Lohar rampaging over , under the posts making the afters easy for Chippy.
30-15 some great turnovers at ruck time were depriving B'muir of decent ball and from another we attacked at pace and angle picked by Chippy left defence bemused as he slid over from what seemed 10m out, just as well the grass wasn't longer!!!
37-15 is this the norm now? Quick rucks, runners deep with pace and blasting through tackles. Great work through middle before moving ball wide left and winger , who used to be full-back, Sh...Ri.., finishes with "searing " pace.
42-15 B'muir ragged and bemused, coaches amazed at how ruthless this team had become over 80 mins!! Work rate from forwards still hitting rucks and hitting gaps hard tore B'muir apart one last time down left and finished in style by left winger, who used to be
full-back, Shi..Rid. Hat trick boy is quite shy and didn't want mentioned by name , so have kept his identity a secret!!!!
Was asked after who played well, will use a few cliches as answer- team effort, difficult to pick out individuals.
Great entertainment, even the ref said he enjoyed himself. Have never seen a B'muir team look so bereft of ideas by the end. Everyone made a huge contribution and this sets the team up nicely for another huge week building to Stirling. Unfortunately we have now raced the bar in terms of intensity, skills and ruthlessness, and we must aspire to these levels, and more, every week . Great job everyone and made the hypothermia well worth it.
