FULL CUP DRAW

Whitecraigs, currently leading Scottish Hydro Electric National League Division 2, who accounted for Peebles at the weekend, will be making the trip to the Greenyards to face cup holders Melrose.

Meanwhile, Lasswade, sitting proudly atop Scottish Hydro Electric National League Division 3 and who defeated Jed-Forest at the weekend, will be heading along the M8 to Braidholm to meet GHA.

Ally Stevenson, Whitecraigs’ 17-year-old stand-off, who made the draw, said: “Melrose are a great club with a lot of history. It’ll be a huge challenge for the boys but it’s one we’ll relish.”

Lasswade captain and prop Mark Billingham, who is the club’s full-time rugby development officer and who also made today’s draw, added: “We knew whoever we got in round five of the cup it was going to be a hard game. GHA will be a good away trip.”

Other intriguing clashes see Scottish Hydro Electric Premiership Division 3 clubs, Dunfermline, currently sitting second in that table, and Perthshire, who are in seventh place, welcome Premiership Division 1 West of Scotland and Selkirk to their home grounds.

Meanwhile, depending on the outcome of fourth round ties we could see an all Premier 1 clash between first cup winners, Hawick, and current leaders Ayr; and potentially an Edinburgh derby between Stewart’s-Melville FP and Watsonians.
