Ulster's Matt McCullough fends off Glasgow's Ruaridh Jackson
Ulster scored two tries as they beat Glasgow 12-0 in Saturday night's Magners League game at Ravenhill.
Darren Cave raced in under the posts for a try after three minutes and Ian Humphreys added the simple conversion.
Andrew Trimble fended off a couple of Glasgow players to run in the second try on 29 minutes, making it 12-0.
Wet and windy conditions made handling and flowing rugby difficult after the break and Humphreys skewed a long-range penalty attempt right of the posts.
Humphreys passed to Simon Danielli who breached the Glasgow defence and fed the ball for Cave to touch down and make it 5-0 in the opening minutes, Humphreys converting.
Dan Parks kicked a 14th-minute penalty attempt to the left of the posts but 15 minutes later a fine move by the Ulster backs saw Trimble outpace his pursuers and run over the line.
Humphreys was off-target with the conversion and Parks missed with another penalty effort a minute before the break.
The Ulster fly-half's long-range kick drifted right of the posts after the break and midway through the second half prop Justin Fitzpatrick was sin-binned.
Glasgow exerted some pressure late in the game but the terrible weather conditions ended the match as a spectacle.
The win takes Ulster up to fifth in the table with Glasgow now eighth.
Ulster coach Matt Williams:
"We wanted to play running rugby but unfortunately the weather dictated.
"Having said that, it was nice to score two good tries so early in the game and I thought we took them well, particularly the first one.
"We were disciplined and did not give away too many penalties and overall I thought we handled the conditions better than they did.
"Matt McCullough is a great wet-weather forward and the young lads did well, especially Ian Whitten. They are developing well."
