Welcome to all Glasgow Hawks Junior Rugby players and supporters for our last home league game against Heriot’s. The Hawks players have commented on how much noise was made during the recent home games against Boroughmuir, Currie and Hawick so please make as much noise as possible and cheer Glasgow Hawks onto another victory.
Tomorrow the under 13s and 14s are both playing Dalziel in friendly matches – Kick-off is13:00. The under 15s will be looking to keep up their 100% league record with a win against Hillhead Jordanhill – Kick-off is at 14:00. All matches tomorrow will be played at Old Anniesland as there is a mini rugby festival at New Anniesland.
The Glasgow Hawks community programme continues to grow from strength to strength. We have recently established a Glasgow Hawks mini club based out of the Donald Dewar Centre in Drumchapel on a Saturday morning and on a Thursday after school we have another satellite club based in the Netherton Community Centre. Any child aged 7 – 12 is welcome to attend these clubs, which are free! So far since September 2008 Glasgow Hawks have delivered 333 rugby sessions to 6322 boys and girls aged between 7 and 18.
The Glasgow Hawks Easter Development Trip is only 2 weeks away. Hawks are taking 40 boys over to France for two weeks to train like a professional. The boys will be participating in rugby and gym sessions every day so hopefully we will see the benefit of this at the start of next season. We will be sending back daily reports so please check the website for our progress in France.
