Moseley match -an alternative view from Ayrshire

The home dressing room on Friday night must have been as packed as
the the under carriage of a cross channel truck drivers vehicle. With
thirty players being utilised all the usual pre season traits were on
display. Missed tackles, poor lineouts and more dropped balls than the
Aussie cricket team. While the match gave Coach Wilson a chance to
evaluate players for the new season, it undoubtedly led to a lack of
cohesion in the home team.

As the match started the Hawks were keen to show a corinthian spirit
that is all too often missing in sporting society today as they awarded
former stable mate McFadyen the opening score. With a superior bulk, strong
running, and sound handling the visitors scored once more before
Murray Strang weaved some dance floor magic and waltzed under the
posts. From then on there were scores and changes at regular intervals,
before Richard Maxton restored to number eight created the final score
from nothing.

Given the number of changes the Hawks produced an encouraging
performance and showed enough to suggest that with the added
personnel they will once again be the team the east coasters will
have to beat to win the league.
