Hawks 2nd xv beat Cumbernauld 1st xv 29-5 at Auchenkilns tonight.
The team taken by GHK coach David Ross scored 5 tries to 1--try scorers were Rory Love,Mike Whiteford,Andy Macphail,Stuart Dunk and Olly Jones

Cumbernauld 5-29 Hawks 2nds

A depleated Hawks 2s team travelled through rush hour traffic to play Cumbernauld in a friendly at Auchenkilns. The Hawks had drafted in some GHK players to help with the gaps with Willie Wong, Graeme Palmer, Jason Carlin, Bill Criggie and Polish New boy Orbin coming into the squad.

With an exciting backline on the field, but up against a strong looking forward pack the game would either be won up front by Cumbernauld or outwide by the Hawks. The latter was to be the case with tries from Dunk, McPhail, Love, Whiteford and Jones. McPhail converted two tries.

The boys fronted up well considering the mix of the team and strength of the home pack. Some of the players started the game 5minutes after arriving at the club due to bad traffic but it was a worthwhile exercise and many putting their hands up for selection with Hawks Head coach, Davie Wilson, looking on.
