Glasgow start for Calum Forrester
Calum Forrester will start for Glasgow Warriors in their Magners League match with Leinster at RDS on Saturday.
As he runs out onto the pitch Calum will be welcomed by and army of Warriors fans from his home club, SHE Premier One champions Ayr, as 20 youngsters and 16 adults soak up the big game atmosphere as part of the their Primary 7 Irish tour.
Youth convener for Ayr RFC, David Sayce, said: “We’re all really looking forward to the tour and to be able to catch a Warriors game while we’re there will be fantastic for the boys.
“We’re regulars at Firhill and have taken part in pre-match coaching clinics and even played at half-time during a few Glasgow matches. We’re all hoping to have a very successful tour and hope to cap it all off with a win for the Warriors.”
Calum added: “It’s a fantastic opportunity for me to get another start, especially at the RDS where they have some big crowds and the atmosphere is always very intense.
“It’ll be great to have some kids along from Ayr watching the game and I hope we can deliver a positive result for them and all our other supporters both in the stadium and watching on TV after such a bitter disappointment last weekend against Ulster.”
Warriors head coach, Sean Lineen concluded: “Calum came off the bench last week and played very well so I’m keen to give him his chance. We also have adequate back-up in James Eddie who has been impressive since his return from injury.
“It’s also a massive opportunity for young Richie Gray on the bench as he has had a great season for the Scotland Under 20s. He’s impressed me with his attitude and I’m looking forward to seeing what he’s got at this level.”
