GOOD LUCK EUAN

FROM BRITISH LIONS WEBSITE

Murray’s rugby pedigree includes representing Scotland under-18 in 1997-98, under-19 in 1998-99 (including the FIRA world junior championship in Wales), and under-21 in 1999-2000 and 2000-01. A former pupil of Williamwood High School he played for Glasgow Hawks in 2001-2002 but in 2003 he was enlisted by Glasgow Rugby on a full-time professional contract, scoring a try on his Celtic League debut against Cardiff.

His won his first cap as a replacement against Romania in Bucharest in 2005 but he had to wait more than a year before his first start for Scotland in the 48-6 victory against Romania in November 2006. He made his 6 Nations debut against England on the opening day of the 2007 championship and played in all five matches, and scored a try against France. Before the World Cup warm-up internationals that year he left Glasgow to join Northampton Saints.

Beginning with the 2006 Test against Romania at Murrayfield he was Scotland’s tight head in 24 out of 25 internationals, establishing himself as the cornerstone of the pack

Injury kept him out of Scotland’s matches against Wales and France in the 2009 RBS Six Nations Championship, but he was back at tight head in Scotland’s 26-6 win against Italy at Murrayfield. He also played in the matches against Ireland and England.
