Sale Sharks give Stirling a bite

SALE Sharks strolled through the Glasgow City Sevens, beating Stirling County in the final by a healthy margin of 43-12 although things had looked very different at half time.
The two teams were tied on 12 apiece at the break but the professionals found another gear to run in six tries in a one-sided second half, two going to David Tait and Seloma Kuaddy grabbing another brace.

With five professional teams taking part, it could have been a tough afternoon for the Scottish clubs involved but Aberdeen Grammar made it through to the semi-finals after seeing off the Glasgow Warriors team whose players were largely culled from Ayr and Hawks.

Aberdeen's run ended when they met Sale in the semi-final but County went one better, beating the Dragons at the same stage but only after extra time when both teams were level 24-24 at full time.

Sale proved to be the class act of the afternoon and the Manchester side were largely untroubled throughout the day's sports.

They saw off Premier Three opposition from Garnock in the first round before dispensing with another pro-team in the form of Ulster by the massive margin of 40-5, which will come as some small compensation to Stirling supporters, who saw their team stretch the winners.
