Chic Murray once said"its a small world but don't fancy cutting the grass"--as we arrived at Lightfoot Green we met this chap who used to live in Clarence Drive,drank at the Rock and chased women at Kelvinside Accie dances which immedately threw some doubt on his character.
In their final pre season match Hawks beat Preston Grasshoppers 34 18 at Lightfoot Green.
Played in beautiful conditions Hawks scorers were--Nick Cox 2t,Sandy Warnock 1t,Matt Smith 1t,Murray Strang 1t 2c Stuart Low 1t
It was good to see Nick Cox's parents Steve and Liz who had travelled up from Kenilworth to support and of course John and Chistine Maxton who had also travelled down to Preston
It was also good to catch up with James Small Scotland under 19 centr who played with Hawks last season.James is about to return to Glasgow to take up his medical studies
