Dear all,
I thought I'd let you know that I am taking a Career Break and will be leaving the Bank with effect from 8th June this year. I have accepted a 6-month contract with Johanniter International Assistance (a German humanitarian aid agency) as Financial Controller / Project Coordinator (http://www.johanniter.de/org/juh/leistungen/assistance/enindex.htm).
I will be based in Nyala, South Darfur, Sudan, helping to deliver primary health care services to the population in remote areas. Hopefully this will lead to other opportunities in the aid/development sector in the medium term. I've set up a blog to record my experiences at:

I just want to thank you once again for your support over the last year. My secondment to Nairobi allowed me to experience a completely different way of living and working. The job satisfaction was incredible and seeing the positive impact that development projects can have on vulnerable individuals was totally inspiring. Hopefully I'll get a chance to visit the home and spend time with the children in September during my week of R&R. If you need to get in touch please use my contact details below .
Kind regards,
Ricky
