Although it is now summer our news desk never shuts and recently one of our intrepid reporters managed to get behind the scenes at The Scottish Sun 2009 Miss Scotland contest.

This glittering occasion, held at the Clyde Auditorium and sponsored by that splendid journal the Scottish Sun whose editor David Dinsmore used to play for West, saw some of Hawks finest act out a major supporting role.

The event which was won by tennis coach Katherine Brown, who was headlined as "Top Kat", seemed to inspire and warm up our own Mike Adamson to such an extent that he reached two IRB Sevens semi finals on the strength of it.
When our reporter was asked if would like to join in--- in true tabloid fashion he made his excuses and left
