Stu's father Ronnie was a very fine all round sportsman and an even better tennis player displaying this quality at SW19
Ronnie played junior Wimbledon in the mixed doubles partnering one of Park School's finest Frances Maclennan.The following year he was again selected to go to Wimbledon but was denied the opportunity by the slightly eccentric rector of the time at the Glasgow Academy
He did however also play for West of Scotland at Counties Week where he rubbed shoulders with the likes of Virginia Wade
