With the the Lions finishing the tour with a great 28-9 win over the Boks at Ellis Park --it recalls another historic win at the same venue in 1955 when Angus Cameron of Glasgow H.S.F.P. who was tour vice captain kicked 8 points in a 23-22 win over South Africa whose side included the legendary Tom Van Vollenhoven who became a rugby league great with St Helens
After the tour Cameron brought a Lions Select xv which included Cliff Morgan to Old Anniesland where they played against a Glasgow Accies/Glasgow High Combined xv
