A 1stXV, missing nearly a whole back division, lost 27-0 to a well drilled Hawks 2ndXV. Our forwards competed well all night but our backs could not much the speed of thought and speed over the ground of the Hawk's back division. Both sides tried to use the ball, on a filthy wet night, but Hawks were the better side and took their opportunities when they arose. Craigs were better in the 2nd half when the forwards kept the ball and thus prevented the Hawks scoring opportunities.

Overall, a lot for coach Jim Henderson to ponder and he will be hoping that the misssing backs will be available for the first game of the season against Linlithgow, next Saturday. Training will not be for the fainthearted on Tuesday and Thursday. Thanks to Hawks for making the trip over the river.
