To all Players, Coaching Staff & Supporters.
On behalf of the Hawks Board I would like to wish everyone associated with Glasgow Hawks a very enjoyable and successful season starting with tomorrow's 1st XV game at Melrose and the 2nd XV game at Stirling County.
I would especially like to welcome the new (and some not so new) players to Hawks and wish all of them all the best for the coming season.
Hawks has always pushed hard for cross-border competition in order that our players can test themselves against the best club players from England, Wales and Ireland. The new British and Irish Cup is a welcome addition to the Scottish rugby calendar and everyone at Hawks should be excited about seeing the likes of Munster 'A', Bristol and Llanelli at Old Anniesland next season if we have a top two finish this season.
As such, we have been working hard behind the scenes in a number of areas:
Peter Wright and his coaching teams have been working hard with the squad to ensure we have two strong sides capable of competing in their respective leagues; Grant Talbot ran a very successful summer camp and will be working tirelessly on youth development via our associate schools in both the private and state sector; and Kenny Baillie has been very active in the corporate sector working with existing and new sponsors to ensure we have the necessary financial support to achieve our goals.
It goes without saying that without the commitment and dedication of the players, the volunteers and the supporters we wouldn't be able to progress the work that is in progress so As a Board we look forward to ensuring that everyone involved with the club is supported and that this season is enjoyable and successful both on and off the Park.
Have a great season and we look forward to meeting Hawks' friends old and new at matches both home and away and at the various functions we will be running throughout the season.
Yours Aye
Allan Mackintosh
Chairman
Glasgow Hawks RFC
