TWO WOMEN IN A BOAT --SUPPORT Lesley Afuakwah

Boston rowing marathon 2009

On Sunday 20th September, my rowing partner Caroline and I will be rowing 50km (31 miles) downstream from Lincoln to Boston in a double scull in order to raise funds for The West of Scotland Teenage Cancer Trust.

We have trained for almost a year together and started off being unable to row at the same time as each other. Now we go out rowing 5 times a week, for distances of up to 35km at a time in order to be as prepared as possible for the actual marathon. We are aiming to complete the course in under 5 hours with as few blisters as possible!

By participating in this marathon I am hoping to raise £1,000 for the Teenage Cancer Trust and have created a fundraising page in order to make it easier for people to donate securely.

If you click on www.justgiving/Lesley-Afuakwah.com you will be able to make a donation with great ease and peace of mind. You can also view some photographs of Caroline and I rowing aswell as gain an insight into the importance of the work being done by the Teenage Cancer Trust.

I am extremely grateful for all donations and this, along with the joy of achieving this challenge, will help to keep me rowing on Sunday 20th and make up for the blistered hands, sore butt and total exhaustion that I will feel at the end of the 31 miles.

Thanks for your support
Lesley Afuakwah
