On Saturday Accies make the first of their four long distant trips when they travel to Bladnoch Park, Wigtown to play Newton Stewart. After the disappointment of last Saturday their is a strong determination to make amends and turn on the style that they know that they are capable of.
There have been a number of changes due to injury and unavailability but the strength in depth is good and some players who were unavailable last week have returned.
In the backs Craig Wright and Richard Taylor come in at right wing and scrum half respectively replacing Mike Hermes and Richard McKnight who are both unavailable due to work commitments.
In the pack there is a new second row of Fraser Cameron and Claudio Urra replacing Steve Begley, unavailable and Robin Bryant who is injured. Claudio is on loan from Hawks and is a powerful Argentinean who had a spell with Whitecraigs. The only change in the back row is at No. 8 where John Fitzpatrick, who was Captain of the Glasgow Academy side two year ago, comes in to replace Graeme Simpson who is on holiday.
The 2nd XV will also travel to Wigtown to play their first game of the new season.
the kick off for both games is at 3pm.
Supporters wishing to travel on the team coach will be welcome. The coach leaves New Anniesland at 10-45 am
Hopefully the weather will dry up to allow a game of handling rugby.
