On Saturday both GHK 1st XV and 2nd XV teams are at home to Lenzie RFC where a tough test in both fixtures is expected.
After a good win away to Hillfoots last Saturday there are a number of changes throughout the team due to injuries and unavailability. VC Danny Hoffman, and Dave Whyte will be particularly missed as Danny has been granted leave by senior officers to update his extensive map collection in Munich, Dave we assume will be carrying the suitcases. In their place, Chris Bruce returns to the fold to partner John Shannon in the centre. Similarly, after an impressive show by Jaimie Millan last week, unavailability gives regular Stand-Off Robbie Stewart a starting berth.
Team as follows:
15. A. ‘Phlem’ Fleming
14. A. ’Yarrows’ McTavish
13. J. ‘The Driller’ Shannon
12. C.’ Robert’ Bruce
11. R.’Boyd’ Love
10. R. ‘Buckles’ Stewart
9. M. ‘Merde’ Aird
1. A. ‘Disco’ Forbes [C]
2. G. ‘In the Navy’ Reid
3. C. ‘Persian’ McLay
4. A. ‘Lamps’ Drummond
5. H. ‘Darcy’ Parker
6. E. ‘The Prince’ Thow
7. P. ‘Stig’ Broadbent
8. R. ‘Effervescence’ McCormack
16. A ‘Numa Numa’ Gunning
17. C. ‘Robert’ Maxwell
18. M. ‘Air’ Horner
Saturday also marks the prenuptials of the Great GHK Legend Graeme ‘Alto’ Miller. All the players and committee wish Alto and Fiona their best wishes for the day.
Next week, Charlie Barkmeier is joining us from Boulder RFC, continuing the long relationship between the two clubs. He is an 18 year old middle row and has chosen GHK as the club where he wants to spend his gap year. He has played age group district rugby in the States. Normal GHK welcome and hosting expected...
Yours in front row union
