Glasgow Hawks Rugby Club Glasgow Hawks Rugby Ball 2014

Director of Rugby 's views

Good afternoon folks and welcome to Old Anniesland for the first home Scottish Hydro Premier 1 game of season 2009/10 vs Stewart's Melville FPand also a warm welcome to their Head Coach, Graeme Moffat, whom I coached when he played for Edinburgh Under 18’s! God, that makes me fell old!

After a disappointing start to our season last week, losing with the final touch of the ball after what was a very positive performance, it is vital that we perform the same way today, but this time take the chances we create.

Last week’s performance was very good with a number of players performing well but if we don’t finish games off with a victory then all the hard work we do during the week has been wasted.

There has been a fair bit of controversy over the summer months with the eye gouging in the Lions game as well as the ‘bloodgate’ scandal down in London which hasn’t put the game of rugby union in a very good light. Let’s hope that the rugby and the quality of the players in Premier 1 is all that we will be talking about this season.

I hope everyone has a great time and I look forward to seeing you throughout the season in the ground and in the bar.

Director of Rugby
