Community Development Officer update

Welcome to all Hawks Junior Rugby players and supporters for our derby game against West of Scotland. The players are playing really well at the moment and commented on how much noise was made by you all at the Stewarts Melville game so please keep that up tonight, they do appreciate all of your support and they will be around at the end of the game to sign autographs and chat to you.

Tonight’s mascot is Scott Hornell, Scott plays mini rugby for GHK, if anyone would like the chance to be a Hawks mascot then please contact Grant Talbot.

On Sunday Hawks under 13’s and 14’s will have a training session in preparation for the first game on the 27th of September v Bouroughmuir. The under 15’s will have their own derby match against West of Scotland in the Scottish Cup, kick off is 14:00 at Boclair School. The under 16’s are at home in the Scottish Cup against Mull, kickoff is at 11:00, please if you are free pop down and watch some of the future Hawks stars.

The Glasgow Hawks community programme is now into full swing with the focus this term being on the local secondary schools. We are in Knightswood Secondary delivering rugby 6 times a week during the boy’s P.E. curriculum time and have set up a Tuesday after school club at St Thomas Aquinas and we will be looking to do the same with Drumchapel High School.
