Good morning everyone,
As you may be aware this coming weekend is the Glasgow September weekend. Long gone are the days when Accies made the epic trips to the Borders to play Gala & Kelso one year and Jedforrest & Hawick the next and between games hearty rounds of drinks were consumed. Eat your heart out Kenny McAskill.
Nowadays there are so many league games in a season that there is no time for these tours, worse luck.
This Saturday Accies take on the surprise package of the season the unbeaten Greenock Wanderers at New Anniesland, kick off 3pm and we need a large support to cheer our boys on.
It has not been the start that Accies hoped for. The usual September problems of unavailability, students sitting exams or on holiday and injuries have cost us dear. There can be no excuses this week as, of today, only Richard McKnight and Matteo Giovanazzi are unavailable. Donald Reid has a surfeit of backs with Mike Hermes, Carl Bates and Jamie Stewart likely to be available for selection. It will be interesting to see who he decides should play. In the forwards Cruz is available and there are no reports of injuries from the game at Caithness last Saturday.
Last season we went to Fort Matilda with a weakened side and lost but in the return game at New Anniesland we turned them over with a bonus point win. Hopefully we can do the same on Saturday.
For a small charge there will be soup and sandwiches available before the game from 2pm.
We expect that the Wanderers will bring a large support so we do not want to be out shouted on our own ground so please come and lend your support.
