GHK lose to Glen's
GHK lost heavily to Alan Glens on Saturday going down 37 - 16. This was our first "doing" for a long time and it was not a lot of fun to witness.
This will be a short report a the VP was called on to take Rory McCormick to Stobhill after 20 minutes or so to get treatment for a nasty gash above his right eye - 14 stitches. The Pres was left with the scribe duties but I have to confess I forgot to take notes - there are, however, several GHK players who should be grateful for this oversight.
To their credit, the boys did not give in and, after Glens had ripped through us 4 or 5 times, we scored 2 good tries in the last 10 minutes to make it a bit more respectable.
It was most frustrating because we had started so well being totally dominant in the first 10 - 15 minutes. Realistically though, we needed more than the 2 penalties from this pressure and certainly needed to use the wind better.
We are by now beginning to realise what the step up to National 1 means but if we keep our concentration and get the basics right we really have no one to fear in this league.
So maximum effort for the vist of Hawick Linden on Saturday coming.
The Pres,
