There is definitely now "no going back" so I'm looking forward to the challenge ahead on Sunday. Still got my fingers crossed for a day that is neither too hot (as it has apparently been for the last two years) nor at the other end of the scale.

I am very grateful indeed to everyone who has already supported my efforts to raise funds for Action Medical Research both through online and separate contributions and to those who have pledged to do so. A friend who has recently accomplished a marathon tells me that "it's all in the mind" and I am quite sure that during the last 4 or 5 miles when the mind starts to play games with the body I will be driven on by the generous support I have received.
