The Glasgow Hawks game against Boroughmuir on Saturday 17 October will have a more feminine feel than usual...
In a bid to raise awareness and vital funds for leading breast cancer charities Breast Cancer Care and Cancer Research UK during Breast Cancer Awareness Month (this October), Glasgow Hawks Rugby and Football Club will be hosting a ‘Pink Day Celebration’ in aid of the two charities.
Kenny Baillie, Chief Executive at Glasgow Hawks said:
"Breast cancer can affect anyone, it's not selective and it doesn't just affect the person diagnosed. It affects whole families; husbands, children, fathers, mothers, friends. The club felt that it wanted to do something to raise awareness of breast cancer so we decided to host a pink day."
The day will be a mixture of rugby and pampering in a bid to attract more female supporters to the game. Tickets to become a ‘Pink Sponsor’ cost £20; this includes entry into the game, pink fizz on arrival and a ‘Girls guide to Rugby’!
The Pink Sponsors area will have a selection of retail stands and beauty treatments on offer as well. Tickets can be purchased on the door which opens at 1.30. For more information on the club, visit www.glasgowhawks.com.
