GHK UPDATE FROM ALLY F

They are in front of us, behind us, and we are flanked on both sides by an enemy that outnumbers us 29:1. They can't get away from us now!"
Lewis B. "Chesty" Puller, USMC

After a six try win over Hawick Linden last week there are no injuries to report such as a broken leg to a fine scrum-half or a second row family holiday in Greece. Rather we find our numbers swelled and a plethora of options before us as boys look to join the famous GHK ranks to become men on the pitches and in the bars of rugby clubs across Scotland and beyond. The long trek north tomorrow to face Gordonians RFC holds no fear for this band of players no matter the conditions. Leaders are being made. Padre Dunlop has instilled in training this week that victory on foreign sands holds the key to progressing in the National leagues. Thank you Padre.

There is a notable positional change at Stand-off where ’Young Gun’ Shannon is unavailable due to the annual ‘Driller’s bar mitzvah’ so in waddles Chris Breckenridge to squeeze his unique frame into the great green and blue jersey. The journey north will be spend tempering this characters touchline finder reverse pass but we all know its on!

Also travelling on the bus, ably driven by ‘Tom Tom’ in Dorothy’s absence, is the ‘Medical Core’ of Robbie ‘Buckles’ Stewart, Whippy ‘The Great 202’ and ‘Merde’ Aird. After the invention of ‘Taps Aff at 8’ pressure is on for this group to take the baton forward and ensure appropriate Shock and Awe by Peggy Scotts, Finavon.

The Regiment for tomorrows game against Gordonians at Seafield is as follows:

15 D ‘Clubfoot’ Whyte
14 A ‘Razzle’ McLay
13 A ‘Office supplies courtesy of MacIntosh’ Shedden
12 D ‘Töricht wurst ’ Hoffman
11 R ‘Porkpie’ Love
10 C ‘Jonah Hill’ Breckenridge
9 C ‘The Posh’ Sorlie
1 A ‘Juniper and Rum’ Forbes
2 G ‘Seizing the Day’ Reid
3 C ‘Escort’ McLay
4 A ‘Postal Strike’ Drummond
5 E ‘The man who would be King but currently 10m Down’ Thow
6 A ‘Summer’ Cummings
7 A ‘Foam Hands’ McTavish
8 P ‘Hypnosis for Success’ Broadbent

16 M ‘Sven and Benny’ Tuominen
17 M ‘Whales Whales...’ Moghadam
18 A ‘Bridgette’ Neilson

Genuine best wishes to all Anniesland teams tomorrow. Rapelle Le Cloche.

Yours as always, running towards the gunfire in front row union, ball in hand and making ground, with a Samoan sidestep.

Disco
