TEENAGE stand-off Duncan Weir bagged 23 points as Glasgow Hawks defeated Watsonians.
Hawks started well with young full-back Robbie Hair having a couple of good runs and back-row Rory McKay looking set to score before play was called back. They took the lead in the 15th minute thanks to a drop goal by Weir, but the home side levelled four minutes later through a penalty by full-back Mike Ker.

The game became a bit fractious at that point, but a 29th minute penalty by Weir restored Hawks' lead. The visitors then managed to get a converted try before the break, second-row Mat Whittleston galloping through the gap to score after a lovely inside pass by Hair.

Ker kicked a penalty and a 50 metre drop goal to one Weir penalty to make it 16-9 Hawks at the interval.

The sides traded tries at the start of the second 40 minutes, back-row Mike Fedo and Weir going over to make it 23-14 and set up a thrilling finale.

Hawks had hooker John Maclay in the sin-bin for a spell, but it was them who went on to win it with a final try by No.8 Grant Strang.
