THE GLASGWEGIAN REPORTS
Glasgow Hawks Ready For A Red Hot Currie, Says Boss Peter Wright
Oct 29 2009
GLASGOW Hawks boss Peter Wright hailed last week's 48-12 win at Edinburgh Accies as the most consistent display he's seen since returning to the club last year.
The Old Anniesland side were in ruthless form as they tore their hosts apart.
They ran in six tries with Craig Gossman (2), Kerr Gossman, Cammy Kerr, Mat Whittleston and Robbie Hair all crossing over.
Wright now hopes his men can build on this win with another at table-topping Currie this week.
He said: "That was the most consistent display I've seen since I came back.
"There have been times when I've seen us play better spells of rugby but from the first minute to the last, the Accies win was very satisfying.
"Our front five set up a great platform for us to attack from and the pace of our back three especially really impressed me.
"Currie will be tough but we're working on a few little surprises in training which will hopefully see us spring an upset on them."
Wright will hope his Hawks will fare better against the Edinburgh aces than local rivals West of Scotland did as Currie demolished John Beattie's men 56-18.
