Peter's match day notes

Good afternoon folks and welcome to Old Anniesland for this Premier 1 game vs Melrose and also a warm welcome to Melrose coach, Craig Chalmers – my coaching partner with Scotland Under 20s.

Thankfully, we managed to get on winning ways with a hard fought away victory against bottom club Stewart's Melville. We do seem to make things hard for ourselves; we dominated most of the game vs Stew Mel but just couldn’t turn that domination into points – something we have been working on in training.

Melrose is never an easy game and I don’t expect it to be any different today – Craig will have his team up and ready for this game.

For our players it is vital that we turn up for this home game and make sure that when we create chances that we show some composure and execute them.

Hopefully by the time you read this Scotland will have had a clean sweep in the autumn internationals – what a victory against Australia, a game that on the balance of possession and territory we should not have won – but sport is a funny old game at times!

And finally, just a big thanks from me to Kenny Baillie for all the hard work he has put into Glasgow Hawks over the years and in particular the last 18 months in which I have had the pleasure to work alongside Kenny. We wish him all the best in his new role with Glasgow Warriors. All the best mate.
