Welcome to all Hawks Junior Rugby players and supporters for our match against Selkirk, the boys had put in a really great team effort last Sunday against Melrose and nearly came away with all 4 points. Please get behind the players from the first whistle and cheer them on to a Hawks victory.
Tomorrow the under 13’s and 14’s are both away to Stirling County in a friendly match and the under 15’s are at home against GHA in a West division 1 league match kick off is 14:00. The under 15’s are through to the last 8 of the Scottish bowl after their 45 – 3 victory over Livingston last week, well done to Fergus and the boys. The under 16’s are training today at Old Anniesland as they have no league fixture this weekend.
The Glasgow Hawks community programme is now into week 4 of 5 of our tag rugby programme for P3 – P7 pupils. We are currently coaching in the St Thomas Aquinas learning community and the schools receiving tag rugby coaching are – Corpus Christie, St Brendan’s, St Clare’s, St Patrick’s and St Paul’s, at the end of the 5 week programme all the children will take part in a tag rugby festival. The programme is in partnership with Andy Young the active school coordinator for this area. In January the tag rugby programme will move onto the Knightswood learning community, where Louise Keating (ASC) has organised 6 primary schools to receive a 6 week block of tag rugby.
