Director of Rugby match day notes

Match Day Notes

Good afternoon folks and welcome to Old Anniesland for this Premier 1 game vs Selkirk and also a warm welcome to Selkirk coach Kevin Barrie and his troops

We were bitterly disappointed last week with our draw with Melrose – a game we dominated but just couldn’t finish off. The players have worked hard in training this week and hopefully that hard work will pay off today against Selkirk

We had a couple of good performances from very inexperienced players – George Hunter did exceptionally well at prop in his first start for 1st XV having only turned 18 last month and Paddy Robinson who is also only 18 came off the bench for his first start in the 1st’s – another 2 promising young players to go along side the batch we already have – the future does look good

Selkirk have got themselves on a good run at the moment and knowing Kevin he will have his players well prepared today for what should be a cracking game of rugby. With both teams looking to play rugby from the start.

I hope everyone has a good afternoon and I look forward to seeing you in the bar after the game
