NEW Glasgow chief executive Kenny Baillie yesterday revealed his determination to help the club maintain their current momentum after officially starting his new role.
The appointment of Baillie, who joins the Warriors after 18 months in the same role at Glasgow Hawks, was announced two months ago.

Since then, Glasgow have climbed to the summit of the Magners League and, in cruising to a 33-11 victory over Gloucester at Firhill Arena last Friday, have kept their hopes of reaching the Heineken Cup quarter-finals alive.

Baillie, who captained Glasgow Hawks and also represented Scotland at under-21 level during his playing career, said: "I'm delighted to be taking up office with the Warriors at a time when the club is enjoying so much success on the field.

"I'm very much looking forward to working with Sean Lineen and the squad to help them build upon this momentum."

Scottish Rugby chief executive Gordon McKie added: "It's great to see Kenny join us at such an exciting time for Glasgow Warriors and Scottish Rugby."

Baillie takes over from interim chief executive Colin Thomson, who has been at the helm since Ian Riddoch quit in July.

McKie added: "I especially want to thank Colin Thomson, who has made a major contribution to the Warriors as interim chief executive, along with the committed Warriors staff and players for all their hard work over the past few months which has enabled Kenny to join a club which is challenging for honours, and provides a significant number of players to the Scotland national team."

Prior to joining Hawks, Baillie was business development director at Dynamic Knowledge Corporation and also worked for Graham Technology.
