Good morning everyone,
The Committee and players at New Anniesland wish you all the best for the Christmas and New Year celebrations and express the hope that you will have a most enjoyable time.
We also wish to thank you for all your support since the start of the season. Without it the task of running a rugby club would be quite difficult. I should also like to thank you for the interest you have shown in these weekly messages and for the favourable and constructive comments. It seems that these have generated a new interest in Accies Rugby.
As you are no doubt aware we are in the biggest freeze up for 20 years and this has resulted in losing two weeks of rugby. Tomorrow's game against the Exiles has been cancelled but the players are still coming out for a game of touch rugby and the Prematch lunch is still on at 12-30.
The traditional Boxing Night party is definitely on and Accies own in house band the B-Flats are the star turn. All those young at heart and perhaps not so young are welcome to join in the fun.
If the weather warms up the next league match takes place at New Anniesland on Saturday 9th January when Highland are the visitors. Accies brought off a good win when they played them in Inverness on the 3rd of October and that win was the start of the recovery that has taken them to 2nd place in the league. Only one game has been lost since then.
With 6 games remaining it is still all to play for. Confidence is high, most of the injured players have returned and performances have improved, it is going to be an interesting period after the New Year.
We look forward to good attendance's at Anniesland for the three remaining games and look forward to seeing you there
Alasdair Graham
