PETER'S COLUMN

Good afternoon folks and welcome to Old Anniesland for this Premier 1 game vs Edinburgh Accies and also a warm welcome to Accies coach Ian Barnes

After a 6 week break we finally got the season under way with a good away result against Boroughmuir – after a difficult pre match build up with both George Oommen & Mat Whittleston dropping out at the 11th hour, with Andy Kirkland (having played a half for the 2nds) & Robert Niven coming into the squad. It was a great team performance and a very well deserved victory in what were terrible conditions

And finally it is sad to see the loss of the great Bill McLaren, a very passionate and professional man when it came to rugby as well as probably rugby’s greatest ambassador. On
