Twelve teams are to compete this year in the Davidson Chalmers Melrose 7s Veterans Tournament, from Orkney in the north to Ledbury in Herefordshire in the south – and an invitational side from the Cayman Islands.
The international event spanning Friday 9th and Saturday 10th April is also set to be a celebration of the Armed Forces in tribute to the bravery and sacrifice of Scottish and British services personnel around the world – with Poppy Scotland, the former Earl Haig fund, taking centre stage for the weekend.
Confirmed teams for the Davidson Chalmers Melrose 7s Veterans Tournament are:
Orkney RFC, Ledbury RFC, Melrose RFC, Edinburgh Academical FC, Millbrae RFC, Cayman Islands, Morgan Academy RFC, Alnwick RFC, Madras Rugby Club, Puffin Gannets, and Glasgow Hawks RFC.
The veterans’ tournament, which has free admission and free car-parking, will have catering and bar facilities, and is expected to draw in supporters from across the UK – and from around the world
