THE DAILY RECORD REPORTS

Stirling Albion boss: My mate lost 9-0 on Saturday aswell.. but he plays rugby
Feb 9 2010 By Anthony Haggerty
ALLAN MOORE didn't know whether to laugh or cry when he staggered home from Stirling Albion's cup humiliation by Ross County to be told by an old pal that he, too, had lost 9-0.
Moore's mate, Jamie Dempsey, plays RUGBY so even though the defeat he and his Glasgow Hawks team-mates suffered against lower-league Stirling County in the Scottish Hydro Premier Cup was a shock, it barely registered on the scale compared with the Binos' battering at Dingwall.
Manager Moore insists the trauma will stay with him for the rest of his life and admits he was so incensed he would have lost the plot and been sent off if he had been playing.
Last night he said: "I don't know if Jamie was deliberately having a go or trying to cheer me up when he told me his team also lost 9-0.
"The problem is Glasgow Hawks play rugby. I didn't know whether to laugh or cry.
"I'm still shell-shocked. This remains on your record for ever and that hurts most.
"It was embarrassing and with 15 minutes to go and the score 6-0 I was begging with the fourth official for the final whistle.
"Football is all about pride and that's why if I had been playing I would have got sent off because I would have taken bodies.
"Defeats like that make you angry as a player and should provoke a reaction but we were just never at the races and we lost a goal in two minutes and that set the tone."
