Accies News from Ally G

The 2nd Division SHE National League match against Greenock Wanderers postponed before Christmas has been rescheduled to this Saturday at Fort Matilda and kicks off at 12 noon in time for supporters to see the Wales v Scotland 6 Nations tie from Cardiff.
This is a highly significant match for Accies if they are to continue their push for promotion at the end of the season. Hopefully it will not be affected by the weather as Accies are already four matches behind in the league programme and it is pretty certain that the season will now run into April.
Accies lost the match against Wanderers early in the season when it was played at New Anniesland but still scored four tries in the process. In the interim they have improved considerably and the run of wins in the middle of the season and the confidence that brings must give them a good chance of victory on Saturday. They will, however, be greatly encouraged if there is a large turnout from the Accies travelling support.
Inevitably when games are rearranged players are unavailable having thought that they had a free Saturday. Hooker Matteo Giovanazzi and Cruz Kawakameni are attending weddings and will be replaced respectively by the highly experienced and powerful Matt Smith who will be making his first start since returning from an extended honeymoon and our man from Chile, Claudio Urra, who was a regular before getting injured in November. Dougie Horne the flying left winger has suffered a training injury and Craig Wright wins back his place in the side. The rest of the side is along the usual lines.
If you wish to check if the game is on you should call 0774 0777498 between 10-30am and kick off time for an update. We look forward to seeing you in sunny Greenock.
