Weather plays havoc with Scottish title run-in
The fixture pile-up that is looming for the Scottish Hydro Premiership grew a little larger on Saturday as two more games fell victim to the weather.

To make matters even worse, the cancellations hit matches involving Ayr and Currie, the only realistic contenders for the title. At the current rate, a season that was due to end in early March may well be dragged into May.
Currie's match against Glasgow Hawks was never in much danger of taking place anyway, but controversy surrounded the cancellation of Ayr's meeting with West of Scotland at Millbrae.
Both sets of players were willing to play, but referee Andy Healy declared that parts of the Millbrae pitch were still too hard after a harsh frost.
Ayr officials then proposed that the game be moved to the second-team pitch nearby, but West players considered that its surface was not good enough, so the match was called off.
Of the games that did go ahead, the most significant was the relegation battle at Myreside between Watsonians and Stewart's Melville. The game ended with a 26-13 victory for Watsonians – a possible lifeline for the south Edinburgh side but a result that all but confirmed that second division rugby will be on the menu at Inverleith next season.
Watsonians' cause was also helped by Heriot's 44-20 victory over Selkirk, an outcome that leaves the Borderers in a precarious position near the foot of the table. Edinburgh Accies are not in much better shape, just one slot above Selkirk, their worries deepened by their 40-19 defeat by Dundee High at Raeburn Place.
The only other Premiership game to take place saw Boroughmuir beat Melrose 32-26 at Meggetland. In the second division, Stirling County and Hawick opened up the gap they already held at the top of the table with comfortable wins against Haddington and Peebles respectively.
