Tonight at the Mitchell Library the launch of "Played in Glasgow by Ged O'Brien and Simon Inglis took place
This remarkable book traces the history of sport in Glasgow through its grounds
A journey that takes us from the oldest international rugby cap in the world which is housed at New Anniesland(its English equivalent resides at the RFU Museum at Twickenham) to Queens Park giving soccer to the world Glasgow having the three largest stadiums in the world and our city fathers licensing Hampden Park to hold 184,000 all the way to Hawks playing at Old Anniesland
A truly remarkable story about a remarkable city--"the Second City"
